After the World's Fair in Chicago was over, the Rickers bought the Maine State Building as a trophy after winning Worlds Best Water for Poland Water (now known as Poland Spring). They bought it for $30,000 back then!
However, the next step was to dismantle it piece by piece and move it! It took 19 men and the guidance of Forrest Walker, a Maine resident, to take it all apart. Then they loaded it onto 16 railroad cars and brought it to Poland, Maine where it still stands today.

The Rickers kept this building as art gallery on the property to show off the craftsmanship of Maine workers. This building is the Pride of Maine and it needs to be shown off!
People can visit today for a tour through the Spring, Summer, and Fall.
